Cement Tiles are colored with
metallic oxide pigments using one of two methods:
1. Color thru: Using the
color through process, pigments are added to the cement
before extrusion, so that the color is mixed throughout the
tile. These tiles are porous and never require painting.
2. Slurry coating: Slurry
coating which is used only in South Florida, involves
bonding a colored cement slurry top layer to an extruded
tile while it is manufactured. This slurry coat is not
porous. These tiles never require painting.
