Gobble Gobble

American made type IV asphalt is heated to a blistering 550°. The tar kettles used by Covenant Roofing must maintain this temperature for hours each day for tons of asphalt.

They also make a great place to roast a turkey for the holidays. WARNING: DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME.

Directions:

Marinate thawed but chilled turkey overnight with herbs and spices. Heat kettle full of asphalt to 550°. Wrap thawed but refrigerated turkey in several layers of aluminum foil. 6 layers seems about right. slowly lower turkey into kettle. Cook turkey for approx 1 to 1 1/2 hours depending on size of turkey. Remove from kettle and place on used plywood. Let it set for twenty minutes. Slowly remove outer tar coated layers of aluminum foil from turkey. When you reach clean greasy layer of aluminum foil, remove turkey to kitchen. unwrap turkey, carve and eat. Yum Yum

My flat roof is 20 years old. What can I expect when I replace it?

Most small flat roofs will be able to be re-roofed without any problems. However Florida Building Code (FBC) requires low slope roofs to have a positive drain characteristic, that is, the FBC requires a minimum 1/8" per foot positive slope to drain water off of your roof. When age gets the best of your roof, Covenant Roofing can provide a tapered insulation roof system that will give your roof back the positive slope as required by the FBC. Tapered insulation also provides an insulating factor. We can provide insulation applied under our new roof system with an R-Value of 20. Yes, you heard right R-20! Now you know why Covenant Roofing features Energy Star label roofing materials. It benefits you, our valued customer. Covenant Roofing provides the best in premium asphalt roofing systems for low slope applications. Whether it is your Florida Roof or your commercial building, Covenant Roofing has your affordable roofing solutions.

Premium Tapered Insulation Flat Roof Application

After removing the old roof surface to a clean workable surface, verifying that all bad wood has been removed and replaced with new wood, and the roof decking is fully secured by FBC standards, Covenant Roofing applies a 75# fiberglass base sheet over the wood roof deck.
Tapered and Non-Tapered insulation is hot mopped over the new 75# base sheet to provide positive slope per FBC. The desired R-Value determines the thickness of the insulation.
A single layer of fiberglass ply IV is hot mopped over the new tapered insulation. Covenant Roofing uses only American made type IV asphalt heated to 550° for all applications.
A modified bitumen roll roofing material is then mopped over the fiberglass ply sheet. These Mop Modified rolls have a polyester core and contain chemical modifiers which combine  asphalt, plastic and rubber to provide a premium three ply system in a single application.
The resulting roof has one of the best waterproof standards in the industry. Very UV resistant, these rolls are the very best protection you can provide for your flat roof. And they are virtually maintenance free!

Chef de Toit

Not to be outdone, the owner of Covenant Roofing holds an annual picnic for employees, their families and friends. For this event a special stainless steel basket and an unused tar kettle are enlisted to boil 325 gallons of water. A special hoist lowers the basket which contains 100's of pounds of lobster, shrimp, red potatoes, and corn on the cob into the boiling water, resulting in a fantastic tropic clam bake.
